Few youngsters involved, initiation time for Saliba & more: 6 things spotted in pre-Liverpool training

1. Just a handful of youngster are in training

By that we mean only first-team youngsters, i.e. Saka, Saliba, Niles, Nelson and Nketiah. We can usually see guys like Medley. McGuinness, Okonwo etc. involved (unless they are on loan) but not this time. Arteta is taking the game seriously by the looks of it.

2. Sokratis returns despite links with a move away

Arsenal reported that Sokratis and Soares are back in contention for the match and sure enough, the Greek was definitely on the pitches. Will be interesting to see the extent he is involved at - if at all.

3. William Saliba gets through the initiation corridor

Which looks odd, he was involved with the first team before but there you go. Definitely time to consider handing the Frenchman his official debut though.

4. Saka is in top spirits following his senior England call-up

Our winger has finally been drafted into England's shortlist for the upcoming international games and we couldn't be happier for him. And he couldn't be happier for himself too!

5. Leno is focused to the maximum

The overall mood in training seems to be uplifting, yet Bernd Leno didn't join in. There could be a myriad reasons for that, our bet would be on his drive to prove himself following time out with an injury.

6. Tierney getting instructions from Steve Round

We thought the Scotsman would hardly be involved today, given his recent injury absence, but it seems we were wrong. Tierney chatting to Round might mean he will start and possibly in a different role than usual.
