Emile Smith Rowe being named in Arsenal's XI was celebrated by Gunners' fans worldwide and after the midfielder put in a brilliant performance, Arteta focused on what the Englishman offers to the side.
"He hasn't played many games and he's playing in a position that doesn't suit him perfectly with his qualities. But you can see that every time he is around the ball something is going to happen," Arteta was quoted as saying by Arsenal.com
"He has a lot of creativity, he's a player who has the quality to receive the ball and do things in areas where there are high-value spaces after it gets opened. He's a threat and I'm really happy with his performance."
Smith Rowe got the assist for Mo Elneny's goal for his trouble but it was his overall movement and incisive passes that caught the eye.
Creativity is exactly what the Gunners lack right now and we are hoping Smith Rowe can supply us with some of that in the league in the coming months. Fingers crossed.
