Emi Martinez reportedly helped convince Buendia pick Villa over Arsenal

Emiliano Buendia signing for Aston Villa is all but confirmed as multiple top sources have reported the deal is done.

Arsenal were interested in the Norwich playmaker but the Lions pushed for a move and secured the 24-year-old's signature.

And according to The Telegraph's John Percy, the Villa goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez persuaded Buendia to join Dean Smith's side.

Buendia and Martinez are teammates in the Argentina national team. Earlier this week, the goalie posted a picture of himself playing pool with the Norwich man.
