Grealish to Arsenal & 4 other transfer rumours you should believe the least now

IN

Eduardo Camavinga

The French prodigy will not sign a new deal with Rennes and it means they have to either sell him this summer or let him go on a free transfer in 2022.

And among rumours linking Camavinga with a move to the likes of Real Madrid, Bayern and PSG, there are stories about him considering an offer from the Gunners.

Apart from that, no reliable source has claimed that Arsenal are in the running for the wonderkid—so don't put your money on that one.

Odsonne Edouard

The Celtic star has been linked with an Emirates move for more than two years now, and rumours about him potentially joining Arsenal keep popping up here and there.

On one hand, signing him makes sense as the absence of a deadly striker was among the main reasons why the 2020–21 campaign was so poor.

On the other hand, landing Edouard would mean a vote of no confidence in Aubameyang, in addition to blocking the path to Eddie Nketiah and Folarin Balogun.

And we don't think Arsenal are ready to sacrifice their captain and young stars for a Scottish Premiership player.

Jack Grealish

I know it would hurt but the Villa captain is not joining Arsenal this summer. Jack likes to flirt with Arsenal fans on social media, talking about the Emirates being his favourite stadium or sending lovely messages to Bukayo Saka, but he is not going to join the club this summer.

Would you go to a club that finished 8th in the league when both Champions League finalists are interested in you? I certainly wouldn't—there is simply no incentive for Grealish to leave Villa for Arsenal.

OUTs

Alexandre Lacazette

if Arsenal are not going to offer Laca a new contract, It would make some sense to part ways with the striker this summer. There are persistent rumours about Atletico Madrid and Inter Milan being interested in the Frenchman.

However, a move does not look likely at this stage. First of all, most of these reports come from poor sources. Second, Arsenal don't have a replacement at the ready and do not seem to be looking for one.

Bernd Leno

Arsenal fans are over-excited about Andre Onana. The Cameroonian is an impressive goalie but Leno's exit does not look probable at the moment.

Even if Onana's ban is reduced so he can play in August, he'll still miss a chunk of the pre-season and will not be able to develop proper cohesion with defenders.

Moreover, there are no rumours linking Leno with specific clubs and the German himself stated he would like to stay at Arsenal.

Goalkeepers are difficult to offload in this market, with even Italy's first choice keeper, free agent Gianluigi Donnaruma finds it difficult to sign for a new club.

The Gunners would be selling in a buyer's market, and getting a decent price for Leno would be extremely difficult—that's why we think Bernd is likely to stay for one more year.
