Gary Lineker makes fun of Arsenal as he reacts to James Maddison rumours

Arsenal are reportedly keen on Leicester midfielder James Maddison and while there's little doubt he'd make the Gunners better, one well-known pundit argues that that move would be a mistake for the player.

"From my experience, taking a backward step never ends well," former England forward Gary Lineker tweeted as he reacted to the rumour.

On one hand, Leicester legend and fan Lineker is obviously biased. He's not wrong, however: the Foxes finished above Arsenal in the last two seasons. They are the reigning FA Cup winners, while also enjoying a more recent triumph in the Premier League.

In any case, it would be difficult for Arsenal to prise Maddison away as Leicester reportedly won't consider selling him for a price below £60m.
