Arsenal could play postponed Premier League games in January – here's what fixture list would look like

Arsenal have seen their Premier League match against Everton on Sunday postponed after the passing of Queen Elizabeth II.

It’s anticipated that the Premier League games on the weekend of September 17-18 will also be postponed with the state funeral set to be held in that period.

The league are yet to announce exactly when all these postponed games will take place.

But the next date to play deferred matches is much later in the mid-week of the January 17/18 next year.

That means Arsenal might have to play the postponed Everton game and even the one against Brentford (scheduled for Sept 18) next year, causing scheduling issues.

Currently, the Gunners are scheduled to play three Premier League games in January – but will also be involved in FA Cup action in that month.

Moreover, they can also be involved in two Carabao Cup games if they are able to make it through the knockout rounds.

If two postponed games are added to the month, Arsenal could end up having to play  8 matches in the space of 31 days.
