'We had what we had': Arteta on lack of depth after making just one sub in Newcastle game

Despite lack of energy and urgency in Arsenal's play in the closing stages of the Newcastle draw, Mikel Arteta only made one sub: Takehiro Tomiyasu came on for Ben White.

After the game, the manager was asked if he was happy with the bench options he had.

"We had what we had," he told Sky Sports.

"We have some injuries as well and attacking areas we don't have that many options but it is what it is.

"That's something we always try to do to improve our team and every window is important."

Arsenal are known to be working on the signing of Mykhailo Mudryk from Shakhtar who would've been very useful tonight.

At the same time, the Gunners have been hard done by injuries, with both Emile Smith Rowe and Reiss Nelson out for a while.
