Two ways Arsenal can line up with new signings after January window - shown in pics

Arsenal have confirmed the signing of Leandro Trossard from Brighton as their first January window acquisition.

They are also on the verge of signing Spezia defender Jakub Kiwior to strengthen their squad.

Both players will help improve Mikel Arteta’s side and add more options for him to choose from in the second half of the season.

Here are two ways the Gunners can line up in January with the two signings.

Option 1: Play them in natural roles

Trossard operates best as a left-wing forward, where he gets the chance to move through the left side and get into the box more often. He can slot in as a replacement for Gabriel Martinelli if needed and play there.

Kiwior is at his most comfortable as a left-sided centre-back, meaning he can play in place of Gabriel Magalhaes. If Arteta aspires to use both together in their natural roles, be it in the Premier League or in Cup competitions, this lineup will be ideal to help them.

Option 2: In makeshift roles

Then again, the arrivals of the two new players have ideally been done to add more variety of options to the squad. Fortunately for Arteta, both Trossard and Kiwior are versatile enough to play in other roles.

With the injury to Gabriel Jesus restricting the Gunners’ options up front, they can play Trossard there because he can play as a rotating no.9 if needed. Kiwior can also play as a left-back if needed, meaning he can slot in there if Kieran Tierney or Oleksandr Zinchenko are unavailable.
