Arsenal are unlikely to have to pay a British transfer record to sign West Ham United midfielder Declan Rice in the summer, claims The Athletic’s David Ornstein.
He claims that the Gunners could get a deal done for around £75m-£85m in the summer.
Ornstein told The Athletic’s Football Podcast: “The word that I am hearing from the industry is that £75/80/85m is a more realistic figure for Declan Rice this summer.”
This comes after West Ham gaffer David Moyes claimed that any club wanting to sign Rice must pay a British transfer record – which is over £100m.
Arsenal have reportedly earmarked Rice as among their priority summer target and will need to fight the likes of Chelsea and Man United for his signing.
