Referee, VAR ignore blatant Rice handball and Paqueta dive to award West Ham penalty v Arsenal — spotted

Arsenal were playing champagne football in the opening minutes of the West Ham game, taking a comfortable 2-0 lead in the opening ten minutes.

The Hammers delivered a sucker punch to the Gunners as Benrahma scored a penalty shortly after the half-hour's mark. It all went downhill from there as the game ended in a 2-2 draw.

The penalty Benrahma scored happened after Gabriel caught Paqueta's leg in the box. However, it's clear that Paqueta started falling before the contact with the defender.

Preceding Gabi's challenge, Declan Rice won the ball near the Gunners' box, pouncing on a Partey mistake. But the Englishman clearly handled the ball in the process:

Despite this, the referee made a decision to award a penalty and VAR somehow cleared it.
