Despite having conceded 3 goals, the 31-year-old had a decent performance against his former club, registering 4 saves – some of them were really good ones.

"I don't know if he's talking about the politics when he was starting every match or the politics when he wasn't playing. Really surprised about it."

Speaking to SPORTBILD earlier this week, Leno open up on his 

 exit, shockingly accusing Arteta of failing to give him a proper chance at the Emirates.

The German said: "When I realized that it wasn't about performance or quality, I knew that I had to leave Arsenal.

"In preparation, I saw that it is not about performance, but only about politics. It was clear to me: I had to get out of here.

The most important thing for me is to find my rhythm again. Especially after I wasn't actually able to train properly at Arsenal and had no preparation."

 replace Leno as Arsenal's first-choice goalkeeper last season with Arteta putting faith in the Englishman despite his occasional blunders.

As for Leno, the German shot-stopper left the Emirates last summer, joining

you are regretting because you didn't do enough even to win arsenal the Europa league or qualify to play champions league football. so what makes you think we regret selling when we have Rambo who is doing great

sure he does not regret his time at Arsenal. don't beleive was personal or even a question of how good he was however, Arteta clearly wanted to play out from the back and could see, same as fans, that Leno struggled to adapt to this and we were conceding to many goal through errors. yes was not all his fault but had to look to the future. Still gets a warm welcome when returns.
