'Really odd': Mikel Arteta slammed for baffling tactics in West Ham defeat

Chris Sutton did not hold back in his assessment of Mikel Arteta's tactics in the second half of Arsenal's 3-1 defeat to West Ham United in the Carabao Cup.

Writing on the BBC, the pundit remarked: "I found it really odd that Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta waited until his side were 3-0 down to West Ham before bringing on Bukayo Saka, Gabriel Martinelli and Martin Odegaard.

"Was he really expecting them to turn the game around? Either play them from the start or bring them on when they are 1-0 down."

Perhaps introducing either of those players at an earlier stage could have helped the Gunners pull one back and put the pressure on West Ham.

Now, it's up to Arteta to turn things back around when we return to the Premier League against an in-form Newcastle United.
