According to Football Insider, Takehiro Tomiyasu is in line for a 'substantial' rise in his weekly wages as Arsenal chiefs wish to secure his future.
Tomiyasu has established himself as a solid defender at the club, starting ahead of Ben White at right-back.
Although injuries have hampered his progress, the Japanese centre-back has been solid whenever called upon.
The report understands Arsenal want to extend Tomiyasu's current deal, which sees him earn £55,000-a-week wages. This contract will expire in 2025, meaning it's the right time to begin negotiations.
However, the club recognise his value and wish to bump him up the pay scale as he's proven to be an indispensable member of the squad.
