Arsenal get Martinelli injury update ahead of FC Porto clash

Gabriel Martinelli will miss Arsenal’s Champions League game against Porto on Tuesday due to a foot injury.

The 22-year-old sustained the problem during Arsenal’s 5-0 win over Sheffield United last weekend.

Martinelli was absent from training on Monday ahead of Tuesday’s last-16 tie, with Arsenal attempting to overturn a 1-0 first-leg deficit.

He missed Saturday’s 2-1 win over Brentford, despite Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta saying he was “pretty positive” the forward would be available for the match, and was later seen on crutches at the Emirates Stadium.

The Gunners must overcome a one-goal deficit to advance to the last eight.
