Declan Rice has opened up on a strange conversation he had with England teammate John Stones whilst discussing Arsenal’s upcoming game against Man City.
He revealed: “I said [to him]: 'Big game next’. And John said: 'Who are you playing?' And I said: 'We’ve got you lot! He said: 'Oh yeah.' He didn’t even know they were playing us next!
“When he’s away from football he likes to be with his family and switch off and I get that. He likes to take one game at a time.”
This is definitely a strange response from Stones, as it doesn’t seem he pays that much attention to Man City’s schedule or football in general when away from the pitch.
It also might be a case of arrogance, something which Arsenal will aim to wipe out at the Etihad Stadium this weekend. A win for the Gunners can give Mikel Arteta’s side a huge boost in their Premier League-winning ambitions and also dampen Man City’s momentum as well.
