Jamie Carragher: 'Arsenal will drop points in a different way'

Arsenal can clinch the 2023/24 Premier League title if able to win all their remaining seven matches of the league campaign.

However, Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher doesn’t see that happening, as he said on the Gary Neville podcast: “There’s an awful long way to go.

“I do believe that Arsenal will drop points, in a different way. I think Arsenal may have games where they don’t score, maybe away from home when they’re trying to chase that one goal whereas I think Liverpool will always score goals.

“Manchester City are Manchester City. I think for Liverpool to win the league and I’ve always believed this, I think they need the two of them to play each other in the Champions League semi-final.

“I think they both need to get through because I know what it’s like psychologically, and physically playing an English team, we played Chelsea a lot, it takes a lot out of you and when you’re also going for a league title as well, that could still help Liverpool.”

The Gunners have some tricky fixtures remaining, including away games against Tottenham Hotspur and Man United as well as the upcoming home game against Unai Emery’s Aston Villa side.

Arsenal have been unbeaten in Premier League matches in 2024 and just dropped points once (against Man City), as Mikel Arteta’s side will make doubters like Carragher eat their words by going all the way and lifting the championship at the end of the campaign.
