Pep Guardiola wants to share PL Manager of the Season award with Mikel Arteta

Pep Guardiola has guided Manchester City to their fourth straight Premier League title win as Arsenal fell short for the second season in a row.

Despite the failure, Mikel Arteta and his squad still had a successful season in terms of taking a promising leap forward to winning trophies.

Guardiola, in fact, wishes he could share his Premier League Manager of the Season award - his fifth in seven years - with Arteta, Liverpool's Jurgen Klopp and two more managers he respects.

Quoted by City Xtra, Guardiola said: "I want to share it [the award], yes or yes! Especially with Mikel for the incredible job he has done until the last game, bringing us to our limits.

"Of course, for Jurgen, for the unforgettable battles for many, many years.

"And Unai Emery, making something unbelievable again to bring Aston Villa to the Champions League. And Andoni Iraola, with Bournemouth, being his first season in the Premier League, doing what he has done, coming back from the tough start of the season.

"It is an honour to be alongside all of them and to win this trophy. We will defend this award as best as possible in the future."
