Kieran Tierney returns to Arsenal: How did his loan at Real Sociedad go? 

Kieran Tierney said goodbye to Real Sociedad fans on Saturday during the 2-0 defeat against Atletico Madrid. The left-back is expected back at Arsenal. How did he fare in Spain? 

Well, Tierney made a total of 23 appearances for Sociedad across all competitions, featuring 20 times in La Liga and twice in the Champions League. 

The 26-year-old started just 14 times in the league and once in Europe. Tierney struggled to make an impact in Spain due to injuries. 

He was sidelined thrice; twice with hamstring issues and most recently, an abductor injury. Tierney missed 21 matches and only returned this month. 

The Scotland international still has two more years on his Arsenal contract but he will likely be sold in the summer.
