'I never want that again': Aaron Ramsdale warns Mikel Arteta about bench role

At a recent media interaction for England, Aaron Ramsdale addressed his bench role at Arsenal over the past season.

Despite being part of an Arsenal side that ended as runners-up in the previous campaign, Ramsdale had to make way for David Raya to play as the No.1.

Ramsdale was restricted to just six Premier League appearances last season and he's determined to ensure that never happens again.

Quoted by The Metro, Ramsdale said: "No footballer wants to not play.

"I’ve had a tough year personally not playing and I never want to do that again."

When asked how he felt to lose his spot to Raya, Ramsdale chimed: "It was tough, it was tough.

"But I have my release now, I’m now here [for England at Euro 2024], I’ve got the greatest honour, the greatest badge on my chest, I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, if I play a minute or no minutes, it will be the pinnacle for me, the best day ever.

"For the time being I’m probably one of the happiest 26, 27 men in England and hopefully we can make not just us but however many millions at home the happiest as well."

Ramsdale is expected to depart Arsenal this summer as the Gunners are set to sign Raya permanently.
