Wolves winger Pedro Neto is reportedly keen on a summer move to Arsenal as he aspires to play for a bigger club.
The Portuguese winger is open to joining the Gunners over clubs like Liverpool and Man United as he aspires to win major trophies.
The Gunners are currently looking into other targets, but could look to improve their frontline with a dangerous winger like Neto. They could rope him in as Reiss Nelson’s potential replacement if able to sell him for a decent amount.
Neto had an impressive 2023/24 season with Wolves, scoring three goals and providing 11 assists in 24 appearances across all competitions.
Here are two ways Arsenal can potentially line-up with the exciting Portugal winger if he completes a switch to the Emirates Stadium.
Option 1: In his natural position
Neto is a versatile forward who can basically play anywhere across the frontline. But his best role is on the left-wing because he loves running through the wide areas before delivering decisive passes into the box.
He can be a great addition to Arsenal’s left-wing, replacing Gabriel Martinelli and improving the Gunners’ creative threat through that side. Neto can help lower the creative burden on Martin Odegaard by flinging in inviting crosses from the wide areas and also knows how to move inwards into scoring goals from that position too.
Option 2: Alternative to Saka
Neto is equally comfortable operating through the right-wing as he is on the other side. He could act as another option on the right-wing when Mikel Arteta feel the need to give Bukayo Saka a rest.
With the English winger being targeted with horrible fouls in the Premier League, someone fast and robust like Neto can easily fill into that position when Saka needs protection. The Portuguese winger excels in moving into central areas whenever playing on the right and can use his rapid pace to help create chances too.
