Lampard's timely substitutions helped Derby reach Championship playoff final - against Terry

Frank Lampard' Derby County saw off Leeds United in the Championship playoff semifinal.

The Rams won the return leg at Elland Road 2-4 and went through to the final which will take place on 27 May at Wembley.

The game did not start well for the visitors, as Stuart Dallas opened the scoring midway through the first half.

However, just before the halftime, Lampard introduced Jack Marriott instead ao Duane Holmes, and this change immediately bore fruit as the player scored 33 seconds later.

The turning point in the game was at the beginning of the second half when Mason Mount who is on loan from Chelsea gave Derby a lead in the game. twelve minutes later, Harry Wilo who had assisted Mount converted a penalty and put Derby ahead in the tie.

Stuart Dallas scored for Leeds again but it was not enough as Marriott scored his second goal in the game and sent his side to Wembley.

In the final, Frank Lampard will meet his old teammate John Terry who is currently employed by Aston Villa as the assistant manager. It means that at least one Chelsea legend will help to promote his team to the Premier League this season.
