Zola doesn't see Zouma in starting XI once Rudiger is available

The Blues were beaten by United 4-0 at Old Trafford on Sunday. Kurt Zouma 'helped' the Red Devils to open the score in the first half by giving them a penalty for a foul on Marcus Rashford.

Gianfranco Zola insists the Frenchman will eventually end up on the bench once Antonio Rudiger is back to full fitness. The German centre-back underwent knee surgery in late April and is expected to be available again in September.

"Certainly, Rudiger has got more experience," Zola told beIN Sports.

"I think he has a better understanding with Christensen. I believe if they want to play out from the back, Rudiger and Christensen will be more suitable."

Now Lampard's men have two days to prepare for the UEFA Super Cup final against Liverpool on Wednesday (20:00 BST).
