- Reece James has come forward with a plea to save Wigan Athletic, a club where he had a breakthrough loan spell in the 2018/19 season.
- The club might be kicked out of League One if they do not find buyers until August 31 - and fans are looking to raise £500,000.
- They have called on their former players to help them - and Reece has done his bit:
- On Instagram, the 20-year-old posted: "Come on let’s help @laticsofficial out! To every player out there never forget who played a part in your career to get to where you are today. To everyone who has a fond memory playing against Wigan, they need our help today. I’ve donated to help this wonderful club."
- Reece has personally donated £3,000 and also posted a link to the crowdfunding service that has since then been shared by Christian Pulisic, Fikayo Tomori, Mason Mount and Callum Hudson-Odoi.
- Reece James was called Wigan's Player of the Year in his only season with the club and even captain the side in his last game there.
