'He’s a good goalkeeper, we know a lot about him': Frank Lampard opens up on Edouard Mendy's adaptation at Chelsea so far

"The early signs and the interactions as a man and also on the training pitch have been very positive," Frank Lampard said of Edouard Mendy, as quoted by the Blues' official website.

"He’s settled in very well in those few days and we’ve made him very welcome. It’s competition, we know that. He’s a good goalkeeper, we know a lot about him, and we will see how we go."

Last week, Chelsea completed the transfer of Mendy from Rennes for a reported fee of £22m. The shot-stopper penned down a five-year contract with the club.

The 28-year-old could make his debut for the Blues on Tuesday as Lampard's crew face Spurs at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in the fourth round of the Carabao Cup.
