Chelsea's pursuit of Erling Haaland continues to get more bizarre by the day as conflicting reports and numbers continue to emerge.
However, there is no disputing that if a move does happen, the Blues will be paying a hefty sum, one that Christopher Vivell, RB Leipzig's technical director, believes they should be ready to pay.
"When I look at the market and see who I would spend that much money on,’ Vivell said to SportBild.
"He would probably be one of the two. If you can secure him now and pay that much for him, you are not making a mistake because he’s still so young.
"On top of that, you have him under contract for five years and Haaland is already guaranteed something then.
"If he stays injury-free, he can dominate the next 10 to 12 years like Cristiano Ronaldo."
With this situation likely to drag on till the end of the transfer window at the very least, it seems that Blues fans are strapped into the roller-coaster for a while longer.
However, acquiring Haaland should definitely be a no-brainer considering his quality, and it would seem Chelsea agree with that to begin with.
