Conor Gallagher earns first England cap

Chelsea academy graduate Conor Gallagher has made his senior debut for England.

The 21-year-old midfielder was subbed on for the second half of the Three Lions' World Cup qualifier against San Marino.

In the first half, Gareth Southgate's side battered the minnows 6-0, so there was no point in keeping Gallagher on the bench when he could earn his first cap.

Ben Chilwell and Tammy Abraham appeared on the pitch alongside him, while Reece James followed minutes later. Ex-Blue Abraham even chipped in with a goal and an assist.

Gallagher has made a strong case for his inclusion in the England squad with his performances on loan at Crystal Palace.

The midfielder has scored four goals already this season and is widely considered one of the biggest breakthroughs, even though he was quite impressive at West Brom too.
