'They had two training sessions with us': Tuchel rates 3 Chelsea debutants in Brentford win

"They were good. They did very well, so congratulations to them," Thomas Tuchel told a press conference about Harvey Vale, Jude Soonsup-Bell and Xavier Simons who made their full debuts for Chelsea in the Brentford game.

"They were hugely involved in this win. It was their first time, and they had two training sessions with us, and I’m happy for them.

"They did not train for one week when the Academy was closed because of Covid and then we invited them to come with us two days ago. They were listening carefully and they did their jobs tonight.

"It also shows the character of the eight other guys. It’s easy to play with our guys, they are helpful and supportive."

Soonsup-Bell, 17, was subbed off at half-time, while Vale and Simons, both 18, were kept on the pitch until the 65th minute.

Tuchel was forced to turn to youngsters due to the Covid outbreak in the team and the need to rotate those senior players who have not been infected. Still, it looks like it should not be the last time we see these guys in the first team.
