'I was literally crying': Musonda on Petr Cech phone call that ended his Chelsea career

In November, Charly Musonda Jr. announced via Instagram that he would leave Chelsea. The 25-year-old's contract with the Blues expires next summer and it won't be extended.

Now the attacker has opened up about his reactions when he realised his Chelsea career will be over soon.

"Even the post on Instagram, I wasn’t going to be too emotional with it because I didn’t want to go long into the details and go long into the memories of everything," Musonda said, as quoted by the Sun.

"I spoke with Petr Cech in August on the phone and after those talks, I knew straight away, okay, I’m going to leave in August here, there is nothing else I can do.

"After the phone call, I was literally crying because I’d been there for a while.

"Even now, it’s going to take some time to get around it."

Musonda joined Chelsea in 2012 but injuries have prevented him from realising his potential. He was left out of the Blues' Premier League squad for the season and will leave either in January or in the summer.
