Chelsea hold positive talks with Rudiger and Azpilicueta following Thiago Silva's extension (reliability: 5 stars)

Chelsea's defence has been solid for a large part of this campaign but a number of their players are out of contract at the end of the year.

There have been concerns that Rudiger, Christensen and Azpilicueta could all leave the club as free agents after their deals expire in 2022.

In a recent report, the reliable Nizaar Kinsella has claimed that the Blues have now held positive talks with Rudiger and Azpilicueta.

This comes after Thiago Silva signed a contract extension for another year to stay at Stamford Bridge.

With the January transfer window now open, the Blues would be best served by wrapping these deals up quickly before other clubs can swoop in with offers.
