Brighton have taken an unusual step by making an official announcement to deny reports of an agreement with Chelsea over Marc Cucurella's move.
"Contrary to inaccurate reports from numerous media outlets this evening, no agreement has been reached with any club to sell Marc Cucurella," the statement on their official Twitter account reads.
The statement does not mean that the agreement won't be reached - especially as it's been reported as close by too many Chelsea-focused reporters to be just a rumour.
The theory is that the hitch is connected with Levi Colwill's deal which is viewed by Chelsea as a separate transaction but is intrinsically linked to the Cucurella agreement.
In any case, it does rain on the parade of the Chelsea fans who already celebrated the transfer after Fabrizio Romano unleashed his ever-reliable 'here we go'.
