Zidane & 5 other managers who could take charge at Chelsea after Tuchel axed

Chelsea have parted ways with Thomas Tuchel, it has been officially confirmed this morning.

So here are five managers who could potentially succeed the German at the Blues' helm.

Zinedine Zidane

Perhaps the most high-profile manager currently without a club. Zizou won three Champions League titles in a row with Real Madrid.

The problem with the Frenchman is that he's been refusing offers from various sides ever since leaving Madrid. Some sources are saying that he wants to become a France national team head coach, some insists it's because he's difficult to convince.

Mauricio Pochettino

Another well-known head coach without job. Similarly to Tuchel, Poch was sacked by PSG despite winning the league title with the French side.

The Argentine oversaw Tottenham's golden era, guiding them to the Champions League final in 2019. However, his relatively poor results with PSG, such as getting knocked out of the Champions League at the last 16 stage last season, make some doubt his coaching credentials.

Graham Potter

Reportedly an early frontrunner in the race to replace Tuchel, Potter is working wonders with Brighton.

The Seagulls are currently fourth in the league table despite a significantly smaller budget than the likes of Arsenal and Man City.

Brighton play an attractive brand of football under Potter, who is considered one of the most talented and promising English managers right now.

Roger Schmidt

The 55-year-old is relatively unknown in the Premier League but he's been named as a potential option by reputable Matt Law of The Telegraph.

It would be a strange move as the German has only won trophies in Austria, the Netherlands and China during his 18-year managing career so far.

Guus Hiddink

Name a better duo than Chelsea sacking a manager mid-season and Guus Hiddink taking charge on a temporary basis. He's done it two times already so why not come back to the Bridge for the third.

The 75-year-old is currently an assistant manager at the Australian national team.

Emma Hayes

This is an idea being floated by some Chelsea fans on Twitter. The Chelsea Women's head coach won three concecutive Women's Super League best coach awards, and deservedly so, having won five league titles during her 10-year tenure.

It would be strange to see a female head coach in charge of the men's team and we're not sure football is ready for it. But as an option, why not?! Hayes is a brilliant football manager and is Chelsea through and through, having been at the club since 2012.
