Chelsea are ready to confirm the appointment of AS Monaco technical director Laurence Stewart, confirms The Athletic’s David Ornstein.
There is an agreement between the clubs and with Laurence, who has experience of working for clubs like Man City and Everton.
Stewart’s exact role title is still unclear, but he could be heading a multi-club set-up that Todd Boehly has planned.
This would basically allow Chelsea to tie up with another club, helping sign that club's talented players and even send some of their youngsters on loan to them.
Boehly is keen on implementing a multi-club set-up with the Blues and help them diversify their recruitment process.
Stewart is set to be the third appointment in the coaching staff, with Chelsea also set to appoint Christopher Vivell as their new technical director and Joe Shields as director of recruitment.
