In an interview with BT Sport, Raheem Sterling was asked which Chelsea player he was looking forward the most to linking up with at the club as he was moving to Stamford Bridge.
"Kovacic to be fair," Sterling replied.
"When we used to play him for City I used to think 'Oh my good gosh' - I'm not going to lie.
"Of course, I always used to love to play with Mason (Mount) for England as well.
"Because he's just a little busy one. He's just always getting on the ball. But yeah them two.
"Kova for sure because there was a couple of times (when I was at City) when he was doing some serious stuff against us."
Kovacic has proven over the past few seasons that he might be the most important midfielder at the club, something which is especially keenly felt when he's injured.
As for Mount, Sterling will undoubtedly try to make this partnership work at the international level, too, as both of them are set to be on the plane to Qatar.
