Two clubs prepared to pay for N'Golo Kante in January despite expiring Chelsea contract (reliability: 3 stars)

According to Italian newspaper La Repubblica, Inter Milan and Juventus are weighing up a move for N'Golo Kante in January.

The Frenchman's contract with Chelsea expires in the summer. There is no news of contract talks, so it's quite possible he leaves as a free agent next year.

However, the Italian giants are reportedly prepared to pay a fee for the 31-year-old to gain an advantage in the race.

The reliability of this report may be questioned, though: Kante is currently injured and won't be back for a few months.

That would make it almost pointless to sign him in January rather than waiting a few months before snapping him up for free in the summer.
