On Tuesday night, the young Blues defeated League One side 

's brilliant strike from around 40 yards to make it 2-0 in his team's favour in the 23rd minute.

The 19-year-old Italian was signed by Chelsea in the summer. The Blues reportedly paid €15m for the midfielder who had never played a senior game.

In eight games for the U21 side, Casadei scored four goals and provided one assist.

"When the offer arrived and I had the opportunity to make this new experience, I honestly took it with open arms," 

 told Gazzetta dello Sport about his summer move from 

"It wasn’t an easy choice to make, and it wasn’t easy at the beginning either because I didn’t know the language well and I’m still learning it, but I felt I had to do it to get out of my comfort zone.

"For the moment I’m having fun and it’s a super positive experience. I’ve grown humanly, because I had to start fending for myself, and technically, because there’s more intensity here, the speed of the game is greater."

The 19-year-old Italian midfielder is yet to feature for Chelsea's first team since making the €15m transfer.

Still, he was impressive enough for the U21 side - three goals and an assist in five games in Premier League 2 - that he got his first call-up to the Italian U21 national team.

"For now I'm having fun and it's a super positive experience," he told Gazetta dello Sport about the move.

, for his physicality in which in a certain sense I see myself, obviously knowing that there's a lot to work on.

"I live 20 minutes from [Cobham] and I study English 3-4 times a week with a teacher, I've improved in this too compared to the beginning but I have to learn it well, beyond football, because it is a language that today we need to know."

was an absolute screamer , looks a decent player - just got to calm down on silly challenges though as he has been sent off twice already this season, we desperately need creativity in the midfield so would be tempting to put him in after the break

Isn't it funny how every coaches seems to prefer him to others. I guess something about him we fans are not seeing....

Never Hate son, that is what starts war, however, if you really understand the strategy and how football should be played you would also appreciate my view of this now useless tragedy waiting to happen in every match he plays!

Is really not a bad player just that is redundancy with ball most times makes him the target...he plays well with a perfect pairing that can accommodate his lapses

Like I said he has too many lapses without a good pairing to cover up. It seems a burden to us now as we do not have any creativity in that midfield anymore...

I watch KDB yesterday, reminds me of how we really miss Kante. That guy was really moving the ball forward just like Kante does for us.

Yet another fantastic signing for Chelsea, once Mr Joke5 packs his bag and flys off somewhere to retire, Casadei will slot in nicely with our midfield masters Kovacic, Gallagher, Zakaria (we should keep him) Chukwuemeka, Kante (at least 3 years more) RLC and our developing captain Mason Mount!

Casadei is a mid field gem.
Just like Hall, he should be integrated into the senior team without further delay.
He is tall, strong and not shy to take shots from outside the 18 yard box; which incidentally is the weakness of our midfield at the moment.
With this talent, I don't see the need to waste much money in buying additional midfield players in the summer, save for a defensive midfielder.
