Chelsea could be back for Edson Alvarez after failed deadline day move last summer (reliabilty: 5 stars)

According to CBS reporter Ben Jacobs, Chelsea could be back for Ajax midfielder Edson Alvarez as they aree looking to strengthen their midfield.

The Blues made a serious attempt to sign the Mexican defensive midfielder on deadline day in the summer. Alvarez even missed some training sessions to force the move, but to no avail.

Speaking to CFC365 Podcast, Jacobs insisted that Alvarez still wants the Chelsea move.

The 25-year-old would probably be worth over €50m, the sum that Ajax rejected in the summer.
