Chelsea seems to be intent on rebuilding their squad starting from the January transfer window. This time Graham Potter is the man calling the shots.
The Blues have already confirmed the signing of David Datro Fofana and youngster Andrey Santos. The question is who's next, realistically?
1. Benoît Badiashile. The Monaco defender has impressed last season helping his team keep 3 clean sheets in 11 league games while scoring 2 goals. According to Fabrizio Romano, Chelsea are currently finalizing his transfer and his signing is likely to be confirmed in early January.
2. Enzo Fernandez. Chelsea have submitted a bid for the World Cup-winning midfielder that matches his release clause. Thus, it's likely that he joins them in January and not the summer. The 21-year-old is under pressure to make up his mind about that as Benfica already made their stance clear.
3. Denzel Dumfries. The Blues could negotiate a deal with Inter Milan to bring the Dutch right-back to Chelsea while Romelu Lukaku continues permanently with the Nerazzurri permanently. The recurring injury to Reece James may fast-track this transfer in the coming month.
Blues are encouraged to keep their fingers crossed ahead of the transfer window. Chelsea are expected to sign at least one or more players to strengthen their squad this winter.
