Revealed: Two midfielders Chelsea will go for if they fail to land Fernandez

The Guardian reports that Chelsea are 'deep in negotiations' with Benfica over the transfer of Enzo Fernandez.

The Blues are ready to pay £112m for the midfielders but only in installments, while Benfica want all money up front.

The move is likely to happen given the Argentine is pushing for a move to the Bridge, but Chelsea have a Plan B and Plan C in case they fail to land Enzo.

The Blues would try to sign Alexis Mac Allister, whom Potter knows from his Brighton days, or Ajax midfielder Edson Alvarez. The Blues were reportedly very close to signing him last summer.
