Why does Mudryk look 'unhappy' in Chelsea pics? Answered

Some fans have noted that Mykhaylo Mudryk looks a bit grumpy in the first pictures of him that Chelsea released after signing the Ukrainian.

So why doesn't Mudryk smile?

First of all, the majority of fans who believe the forward looks dejected in the photographs are Arsenal fans. They are probably still hurt over Chelsea hijacking them for a player that had been tracking for half a year.

Secondly, Mykhaylo just doesn't seem too smiley! Now there's a stereotype about Eastern Europeans being grumpy and all, but the 22-year-old simply doesn't look like a particularly gleeful type.

I mean, the guy celebrates his goals as if someone's stepping on his shoes on a bus.

Thirdly, you've probably heard the news about Dnipro. Russia launched a missile attack on the Ukrainian city, hitting a residential building on Saturday. Expecting a Ukrainian to smile when he and his country mourns the dead in a yet another criminal attack by Russia is simply insensitive from these Arsenal fans.

What else? Well, if you take a closer look at the video above, the one in which he looks 'kidnapped' according to Arsenal fan, Mudryk does smile — it's just his smile is not an ear-to-ear one.
