"I'm confident Enzo stays," Benfica manager Roger Schmidt told the Benfica official website.
"When you see Enzo playing at the moment, I see a player who's on his top level, who's very happy to play for the club and I think there is nothing else in the mindset of the player.
"I don't expect that we lose any of our players who are playing a lot and in the starting XI. That's why I see very focused players and why I expect that [Enzo Fernandez] stays."
Benfica are serious about not letting Fernandez join Chelsea this January. They're trying hard to drive the Blues away by insisting he can only leave if his €120m buyout clause is paid. That is something Chelsea are unwilling to do.
Reports claim the Blues have made two unsuccessful attempts to sign the World Cup winner.
