Joao Felix seeks Stamford Bridge stay, Chelsea have 2 advantages in potential Atletico talks (reliability: 5 stars)

Joao Felix wants to impress Chelsea enough to extend his stay at Stamford Bridge beyond this season, according to the Evening Standard's Nizaar Kinsella.

The Portuguese forward is seeking an exit from Atletico Madrid, and staying at Chelsea is his preferred option.

Apart from Felix's desire, Chelsea have two factors in their favour in any potential talks with Atletico Madrid.

First, they have an increasingly productive relationship with super-agent Jorge Mendes who helped the Blues to secure the signing of Enzo Fernandez in January. He's set to be involved in any deal concerning Felx as well.

Second, Atletico are desperate to get Felix’s £250,000-a-week wages off the books - which means that they would have to consider selling him for a relatively modest price of £70m-£80m.

Felix impressed on his debut for Chelsea but got a three-match ban after getting sent off against Fulham. Now, he has a chance to start anew, with every game an audition for him to earn a permanent move to West London.
