Chelsea want to replace Kepa and Mendy this summer — 3 goalies contacted (reliability: 4 stars)

Chelsea are seriously considering offloading Kepa Arrizabalaga and Edouard Mendy at the end of the season, according to the Evening Standard.

The Blues have reached out to the agents of Inter Milan’s Andre Onana, Borussia Dortmund’s Gregor Kobel and Brentford’s David Raya as the hunt for a new first-choice keeper continues.

Kepa earns £190k-per-week and the club feels it's too much considering his under-par performances for quite some time now. In the game against Real Madrid, the Spanish goalie was at fault for both goals as he parried a Vinicus touch into the path of Benzema for the first goal and failed to close the gap for Asensio's shot for the second.

As for Mendy, the Senegalese want to earn as much as Kepa but the club also think his demands cannot be justified considering his performances last year. As a result contract talks with the goalies have been shelved with the club prepared to sell to the highest bidder.

Chelsea signed Gabriel Slonina from the MLS last summer but the American is still a teenager and is considered not ready for the big step just yet.
