Former Man United defender Owen Hargraves was infuriated with the defending of Wesley Fofana in Chelsea’s 2-0 loss to Brentford.
He singled out the Frenchman for his poor work leading to the second goal, telling BT Sport: “Mbeumo is a fantastic player, very left-footed; make him go on his right..
“That is embarrassing to let him come on his left foot and come back inside. Make him go down the line and cross it. Instead, his body shape is all wrong, he’s lazy in his defending, and that goal sums up where Chelsea are at.”
Fofana was probably just as poor as most of the Chelsea players in the embarrassing loss to Brentford, which marked the fifth successive defeat since Frank Lampard took over. The players can only hope to improve their form and put up a better fight against Arsenal in their next game.
