Todd Boehly 'dialing back' time he spends at Chelsea

Todd Boehly is no longer spending as much time running 

 as he used to earlier this season, Bloomberg reports.

The US businessman has given more responsibility to sporting directors and and is 'dialing back his involvement' in the club's matters.

He spends roughly 20% of his time running Chelsea now, in comparison to over 50% last summer and earlier this season.

The Blues have endured a miserable campaign in Boehly's first season as Chelsea's co-owner as they are set to finish in the bottom half of the 

 table for the first time since the 1995-96 season.

Boehly brings in 'trusted ally' to help fix Chelsea mess

As per The Times, Todd Boehly has sought out a member form his private equity firm Clearlake capital, Chris Jurasek to help out with the mess he finds himself in at 

Jurasek is the operating executive for Clearlake Capital and is said to be in 'final talks' with Boehly as part of a 'broader management restructure'.

Chelsea recently announced losses of more than £120million over the past year, thanks to a huge amount of spending on new players.

Reports suggest this could mean that the recently appointed President of Business, Tom Glick will be reporting directly to Jurasek.

Glick had only been hired last summer and boasted an impressive resume featuring his time as Chief Commerical Officer of the City Football Group and had been CEO of Derby County during their time in the Premier League.

When Glick was appointed, Boehly had said: "Tom's successful track record as a leader and innovator at several respected and winning sport organisations made him the obvious choice for this position.

"His skills and experience will be vital as we improve Chelsea FC's key infrastructure, expand the Club's products and reputation, and find exciting new ways for our loyal supporters to engage with their favourite players."

The move to appoint Jurasek comes after Boehly shared his thoughts on Chelsea's struggles last month: 

"You know they want to win and we get that we want to win so you know I think our view through was that this is a long-term project and you know we're committed to the long-term," Boehly said. 

"We very much believe that we're going to figure it out. We've got the best league in the world, we've got what I think is the top city in the world and we've got an unbelievable location in the top city in the world."

Speaking at the Milken Institute conference on Wednesday, Todd Boehly said: "

"And we've got an unbelievable location in the top city in the world. You have to build a team, your coach is the conductor of the team."

A Boehly-led consortium took over at Chelsea from Roman Abramovich 

 and the club has been going downhill ever since.

The Blues have gone through three different managers so far this campaign, spending hundreds of millions of pounds to end up potentially facing relegation.

of course it's expected, just some fans who don't understand what a takeover means thinks he will always run the club by himself. his involvement was always going to be temporary until he hired the required staff.  it's the crazy fans that thinks he will continue to run the club the way he did this season. give the man a break
