Chelsea technical director Christopher Vivell leaves after just 7 months in job

Chelsea technical director Christopher Vivell has left the club, Nathan Gissing reports. The 36-year-old is currently serving his gardening leave.

Vivell who previously worked at RB Leipzig only joined Chelsea last December, seven months ago.

Before his appointment, Vivell's duties were described as handling squad planning and transfer negotiations.

However, Chelsea's two sporting directors, Lawrence Stewart and Paul Winstanley, appear to be headlining those processes since the January transfer window.

So, it could be used as an opportunity for Chelsea to streamline the decision-making process and clear the room at the executive level.
