Chelsea are finding it extremely difficult to convince Brighton to sell Moises Caicedo for a respectable price.
The Seagulls are intent on getting £100m for him, something that the Blues are unwilling to pay.
Amid Chelsea’s issues sealing this deal, one fan has named a few better alternatives to him that the club should look to sign instead.
@IconicChelsea tweeted: “Chelsea fans are obsessed with Moises Caicedo. Agreed he's a top top player but there are other superb options.
“Sofyan Amrabat, Nicolo Barella, Zambo Anguissa, Locatelli. These guys are top draw but you don't know cos they don't play in PL.
“And of all the midfielders listed, Caicedo is the least experienced. Probably the strongest, but he's still a kid. Chelsea needs EXPERIENCE in their midfield.”
The fan makes sense, because the midfielders listed are all proven and efficient midfielders. Amrabat excelled for Morocco at the World Cup, while Barella impressed for Inter Milan to help them to the Champions League final last season.
It remains to be seen if Chelsea makes a move for either of these players, as Todd Boehley & co seems obsessed with the prospect of signing Caicedo.
