'He made him uncomfortable': Caicedo praised for doing good job vs Messi for Ecuador

Earlier this week, Argentina and Ecuador faced each other in the World Cup qualifier. The only goal of the game was scored by Lionel Messi.

However, speaking after the game, former Argentina striker Carlos Tevez positively rated Chelsea midfielder Moises Caicedo's performance against Messi.

"It was a tough match but at the end of the 90 minutes a good game for Argentina but one player I can’t turn blind eyes to is Caicedo," Tevez said.

"I saw him taking down Messi many times. He made him uncomfortable and didn’t give him any space to operate. He understood the task that he was going up against one of the best players in the world, and he did a good job."

Chelsea signed Caicedo for a British record fee of ₤115m, so there are big expectations from the Ecuador midfielder at Stamford Bridge.

There are some teething problems at the start of his career at Chelsea, but the 21-year-old has already shown quality in his first games here.
