Ultra Boys 90, the largest fan group of Ligue 1 club Strasbourg, have sent a letter with scathing criticism of BlueCo, the ownership group that controls their club, as well as Chelsea.
“Money without competence doesn’t lead to anything good, and the example of Chelsea, our so-called ‘big brother’, who have spent a lot of money but have had a vertical fall down the English hierarchy, is an important reference point: We don’t want incompetence that reigns at Chelsea at RCSA. Neither directly, nor indirectly,” the statement said, among other things.
It added: "Between the multi-club ownership that we can never accept and the destructive sporting policy, it is now time to say things clearly: BlueCo is not welcome at the Meinau and never will be."
Strasbourg are currently one point above the Ligue 1 relegation area after a six-game winless streak curbed their enthusiasm generated by the successful opening run.
BlueCo, the group that is run by Todd Boehly and Clearlake Capital, want to expand their portfolio beyond Chelsea and Strasbourg. Looking at their results, though, it's unlikely that fans of any new clubs will welcome the opportunity.
