Chelsea U21 lose to Strasbourg U21 behind closed doors with their new favourite scoreline

On Tuesday, Chelsea's U21 side played a friendly against their counterparts from Strasbourg, making it the first game between the teams forming the BlueCo group under the same ownership.

Chelsea had quite a young starting lineup, with only two players older than 19 years old.

Still, to lose this game 4-1 is quite a blow.

Stats suggest that the game was fairly even: the teams had the same number of shots on target, and Chelsea had a 51% possession share. Moreover, they have failed to convert three big chances, according to the Blues' official website.

The game took place behind closed doors, so there is not much to say about it, apart from the information provided by the club.

Despite that, there was no shortage of comments from Chelsea fans on social media, especially since the Blues' senior team had just lost to Newcastle with the same scoreline.

ChickenMoSalah: Nah our entire project was spending 1 billion on kids and they’re getting beaten up by our little sister club"

mocrossj: "Heritage."

struwilkie: "Dread it, run from it, 4-1 arrives all the same. And now it’s here"

jMS_44: "It had to be some kind of a shithouse win, look at the match stats, it's pretty much dead even in all aspects. Strasbourg with 4 goals from 3 shots on target, lol"

Nuttyboibolbol: "Great to hear our boys are being prepped the right way"
