Chelsea suffered a 2-1 defeat at Old Trafford, putting in an extremely poor shift collectively.
Sanchez: 7.5/10. Deserves his flowers for saving a Bruno penalty early in the game. Did not try to guess but instead reacted to the Portuguese's effort and ended up pulling a save. Also an excellent double save on McTominay in the middle of the first half. But his passing... absolutely woeful again.
Palmer: 5.5. Slipped and lost the ball causing a giveaway that led to United's opener. Picked himself up and equalised for the Blues, scoring against the team that he used to support as a kid (yes, not City). Was the only Chelsea player who consistently put pressure on the opposition's defenders. But still, very far from a convincing performace.
Cucurella: 5.5. Played as an emergency right-back today. Very decent one-on-one against Garnacho but lost his position way too often, especially for the opener. Supported attacks well.
Broja: 3. Brought on after Chelsea went 2-1 down to make a difference but failed to make any impact apart from one header that hit the post.
Mudryk: 2. Was very involved in the game, trying to take on the opposition and drive forward. But his finishing was very poor again today.
Colwill: 2. The Cobham graduate captained Chelsea in the first half. A proud moment turned into disaster though — especially for the second goal, as Levi fell after the slightest contact.
Jackson: 1. Wasted two clear-cut chances. Set up Sterling nicely in the first half but that was the only positive action throughout the game.
Enzo: 1. Looked lost and unable to keep things running in the midfield for Chelsea. Creativity was absent. Gave away an unneccessary penalty early on.
Caicedo: 1. Very poor in every aspect of the game today, maybe apart from carrying the ball forward sometimes. The opposition passed through his area like a knife through hot butter as Moi offered absolutely no presence in the midfield.
James: 1. Was brought on in the second half but can't say he was better than Cucurella, quite the opposite actually. Capitulated against Garnacho on the right-hand side, allowing him to create plenty of chances for the hosts. Reece made a goal-saving block to prevent the Argentine from scoring in the 74th minute — although his poor header caused that chance in the first place.
Sterling: 1. A really poor dive in the middle of the first half, he was in a great position to try and shoot but went for a dive instead. Absolutely anonymous throughout the game.
